On the second day on Cedros Island, a compact expedition team described, mapped, and collected cones from some of the larger pines (from left to right: Javier López Upton, Jesús Vargas-Hernández, Colin Matheson, and Jesús Guerra-Santos). Two others were also on this team: David Bates, who must have been scouting for more trees, and Deborah Rogers, who was behind the camera.
